One of the benefits of such approach is avoiding writing history. The user can configure Miranda and to virtualize the DB. The history will be written only to the image in the memory and on exit can be discarded.

When the db is virtualized the memory image can be written to new file - i.e. to create a backup.
It is possible to load the DB even from read-only media.

This mod is in very alpha stage and should be used with high precautions. Make backup of your DB before installing some of these plugins!

Другими словами: в памяти хранится копия профиля и запись происходит только в него. Скидывается он на диск либо по запросу, либо при выходе (по желанию).
(Вроде, там еще шедулер хотят приделать...)
Каковы плюсы этого:
1. Не происходит постоянного обращения к диску, что позволяет флэшкам жить дольше.
(Ты счастлив, PSyton? :) )
2. Можно настроить так, что история будет писаться только в память и не будет скидываться на диск.
3. Появилась возможность сохранять профиль в новый файл во время работы.

Что еще можно сказать...
По сравнению с SecureDB нет прикола, когда в DBEditore не отображались имена контактов при редактировании базы (видимо исходники поновее пользуются, сам SecureDB не обновлялся чего-то).
Ну и собственно, как было сказано выше это еще альфа стадия плагина, но народ на него не ругается, а значит все не так плохо :)

Настройки плагина через mirandaboot.ini пример тут
Там не упомянута настройка включающая относительные пути (если путь начинается с папки миранды).

Miranda-IM Build #42 released

Юникодная и неюникодная версии включают clist_classic, clist_mw и clist_nicer.

Помимо юникодных изменений также изменения в протоколах icq и aim.

Юникод-версия и неюникод-версия (так же в обменнике)

Если используете плагин snapping_windows c юникодной версией контакт-листа, переименуйте его в snapping_windowsw.dll
Также при использовании плагина FontService.dll, необходимо удалить его во избежание глюков.

This plugin allows you to convert a contact to a 'metacontact' (using an option in the contact's menu) - you can then add other contacts to it.
