OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 SLI-Ready 2GB Kit

Patriot Extreme Performance PC2-9200 Memory Kit Review
"Today HardwareLogic takes a first look at an enthusiast memory kit from Patriot Memory. I say first because this is the first opportunity we've had to work with Patriot or test their products for an official review.

Although not as well known outside the enthusiast community as companies like Corsair, Kingston, and OCZ, Patriot is well regarded by enthusiasts for producing high performance memory kits every bit as impressive as those offered by the aforementioned companies.

Today we look at Patriot's Extreme Performance DDR2-1150 memory kit. With latencies of 5-5-5-12-2T at 2.3V, the Patriot PC2-1150 kit offers some slightly better specs than the competition in its performance range, but in the crowd this kit keeps, you have to balance performance with value. Read on to see how this Patriot fares."

Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB PC2-8500
"When you think of memory, Crucial is a brand that is recognized as stable and trustworthy. It was some time ago that Crucial (and Micron) never provided overclocking RAM and never warranted pushing their modules passed their recommended values. Even back then, people used Crucial modules to push their systems to the limits. Today, Crucial is one of the many memory makers that back overclocking memory as a standard. RAM has come a long way since those early years. Now there are lights and heat spreaders on most memory. The real meat is the speed and timings and that is what we are looking at for the Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB PC2-8500 Kit."

GeIL Ultra PC5300 CAS3, Ultra PC6400 CAS4 and Ultra Plus PC6400 CAS3
"Today the GeIL Unleashed team has the Intel BadAxe2 on the table paired up with GeIL's Ultra PC5300 CAS3, Ultra PC6400 CAS4 and Ultra Plus PC6400 CAS3.

The BadAxe2 is Intel's second foray into the enthusiast motherboard market for their Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad line of processors. It is based on the successful 975X chipset which means faster performance clock for clock however a generally lower FSB and RAM overclock. One important point to note with this board is that the CPU multiplier is locked for all CPUs apart from the Intel Extreme Editions. This may mean that you run into CPU overclock limitations when pushing your GeIL RAM so in our review we have tested with both tight and loose timings.

That said, the BadAxe2 is by no means lacking in the overclocking department and is a very stable board, in fact almost too stable. This board really likes to stick to its current settings and can sometimes take a bit of massaging to get it to change. Once there however its stability once again becomes a bonus.

During testing the Northbridge chipset voltages used were a FSB voltage of 1.3v and a vMCH voltage of 1.65v - Please note you should actively cool the Northbridge when running at or above 1.6vMCH. "
