This one-meter resolution satellite image was collected by Space Imaging's IKONOS satellite on Jan. 17, 2003. The image shows the 1.67-million-square-foot (155,148 square meters) Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center overlooking Hong Kong's stunning harbor and bay. The center is constructed of 200,000 square feet (18,580 square meters) of glass including walls that stand 130 feet (40 meters) high. The center was the site of the historic ceremony where Hong Kong was handed over to The People's Republic of China. An image such as this could be used for real estate development, travel and tourism, port and facility management, insurance and risk assessment, coastal zone mapping and urban planning.
